Mount Carmel College Bangalore is one of the very few and top ranking women’s college offering quality education in various fields. It was established in the year 1948 and is run by the sisters of the CSST order. In September 2005, the college was granted the autonomy status, affiliated to Bangalore University. Mount Carmel College has been assessed and re-accredited with an A+ by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) as well in 2006. And the institution has been identified by UGC as “Center with Potential for Perfection” (CPE).

The college offers courses in the field of Humanities, Commerce, and Sciences.

Mount Carmel College (MCC) is one of the top-ranking women’s colleges in Vasanth Nagar of Bangalore. The college was established in 1944 in Trichur, Kerala and then shifted to Bangalore in 1948. The college offers UG and PG courses in the streams of Arts, Science and Commerce. MCC is affiliated to Bangalore University but functions as an autonomous institution.

 

The College has a sister institution Mount Carmel Institute of Management For women, which offers PDG courses in Business Management. The institute is run by the sisters of CSST (Carmelite Sisters of St. Teresa) order. It is also to be noted that the college has a state-of-the-art infrastructure, located in the heart of the city.

Mount Carmel College Bangalore Admission Procedure

Application forms for admission for the academic year 2020-2021 for PG Programs & Global MBA Programs and UG programs are available in the website. Application fee for UG & Integrated B.Ed Programs is Rs. 590/ PG & Diploma Programs is Rs. 826/-, and Global MBA Programs are Rs. 1180/-. Minimal eligibility is 12 standard with not less than 50% marks for UG programs. 

  • Applications are accepted online only.

  • Fees for the application forms must be paid through Online Payment.

  • Fees should be paid on the day of the interview.

  • Students are expected to study one mandatory language (i.e., the second language studied during the last qualifying examination)

  • It is mandatory to upload a soft copy of the Applicant’s recent passport size photo and signature on the application (less than 100 KB)

Admission Criteria

  • Admission for B.Com programs is based on merit.

  • Admission for BBA, Communication Studies, B.Sc IDM programs will be based on an Entrance Examination.

  • Admission to the BCA program will be granted after a walk-in-interview which is conducted after the announcement of II PUC results (Students must belong to a Mathematics background during their PUC/ +2/ an equivalent course)

  • Admission to the B.A / B.Sc and B.Voc programs will be granted after a walk-in-interview which will be conducted after the announcement of II PUC results.

  • Admission to all PG programs is based on merit.

Mount Carmel College Placements

Every year by the month of August, the placement process in Mount Carmel begins. The placement cell of the college organizes various activities throughout the year including seminars and workshops giving students an insight into the various career opportunities that they could explore. Also, the college provides mock interviews and soft skill development workshops to make the students ready for the placement drive. By the 1st & 2nd year, MCC students receive the opportunity to become familiar with the corporate world, the college host the internship season at institute to ensure this.

The average placement package offered based on the 2017 – 18 placement report is 3.25l and the highest package is 5.1L per annum.

Mount Carmel is ranked A+ by NAAC. MCC has also bagged the second place in the Swachh Campus Ranking-2019 in the non-residential college’s category by UGC. Mount Carmel College is ranked first from South India and is the only one from the state in the category.
