Business Studies & Social Science

Christ University has nine undergraduate programs and three postgraduate programs under Business Studies & Social Science. The eligibility criteria, admission, process, and competitive examination details are given below.  

Undergraduate Programs

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance and International Business)

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Media Studies, Economics, Political Science 

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) Honours in Economics

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English, Political Science, History

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (Tourism and Travel Management) 

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) Honours in Journalism

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) 

  • ​Bachelor of Arts (BA) Honours in English 

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) Honours in Psychology 

Eligibility Criteria - UG

Basic eligibility for the programme is a minimum of 55 % at the +2 level (Karnataka PUC / ISC / CBSE / NIOS / State Boards) in any stream (Humanities, Social Sciences, Commerce & Management, Sciences) from any recognised Board in India. Candidates writing the +2 examinations in March-May 2019 may apply with their class X and XI marks.

 

Students pursuing International curriculum must note that eligibility is according to AIU stipulations:

Applicants pursuing IB curriculum must have 3 HL and 3 SL with 24 credits.

Applicants pursuing GCE / Edexcel must have a minimum of 3 A levels grade not less than C.

Postgraduate Programs

  • Master of Arts (MA) English with Cultural Studies

  • Master of Business Administration (International Business) 

  • Master of Business Administration (Tourism Management) 

Eligibility Criteria - PG

A composite score of 600 or above in the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) conducted by AIMA in either September - 2018 / December 2018 / February 2019 

OR

A composite score of 450 or above in GMAT 2018 / 2019 

OR

A composite score or 300 or above in GRE 2018 / 2019 

OR

70 percentile or above in the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT 2019) 

OR

70 percentile or above in the Common Admission Test 2018 (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs)

OR

70 percentile or above in the XAT Test for Management Admissions (XAT) 2019

 OR

70 percentile or above in the ATMA 2019.

And

50% or above marks in aggregate in the undergraduate examinations. (Applicants who are in the final year of their studies should have 50% or above aggregate in all the Semesters / years of undergraduate examinations conducted so far). Students writing their final degree examinations during March-May 2019 are also eligible to apply.

Minimum Score specified for MAT / CAT / CMAT / XAT / GMAT / GRE / ATMA is only an eligibility criteria and the actual score thereof shall have no bearing in the selection process

Admission Process

Candidates will be intimated about the Selection status (Selected / Wait Listed / Not Selected) through the “Application Status” link on the University website. The Selection results will be declared as mentioned in the important dates link.

 

Details on how to process admission will be available on Offer of Admission through ‘Application Status’ link on the University website.

 

Candidates are required to choose the preferred date and time from available options to facilitate smooth admission process.

 

As per UGC guidelines, fee payment has to be made through online mode. Payment options and details will be provided to selected candidates through ‘Offer of Admission’ on ‘Application status’ on the University website. Fees for first year including Admission Registration fee must be paid in full as part of the admission process.

 

Admission will not be processed without the presence of the candidate and the mandatory ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS and one set of photocopies mentioned below;

 

1. Class 10 Marks Statement (Mandatory).

2. Class 12 Marks Statement, if candidate has appeared and passed the examination (Mandatory).

3. Transfer Certificate (TC) of Class 12 from the last qualified institution (Mandatory).

4. Migration Certificate of Class 12 (applicable for all candidates except Karnataka state board applicants) (Mandatory).

5. One Stamp size and One passport size photograph formal dress with white background (Mandatory). 

6. Two Copies of the Online Payment Receipt (Mandatory).

7. Copy of valid ID proof (Aadhar Card / Aadhar Enrolment Receipt).

8. Candidates falling under any of these categories (NRI / PIO / OCI / SAARC / AFRICA / ASEAN / OTHER FOREIGN NATIONALS) have to submit:
    a] Copy of Passport and Visa Details (Mandatory).
    b] PIO / OCI have to produce the copy of PIO / OCI card whichever is applicable (Mandatory).      
    c] Medical Fitness Certificate (MFC) from any recognized medical practitioner certified by the Medical Council of India and
    d] Resident Permit (RP) (If available while applying)

 

All mandatory documents must be submitted for verification during the admission process. An undertaking for pending original documents unavailable currently [applicable only for candidates writing / passing their exam in March – June 2019], must be submitted to the Office of Admissions. These documents must be submitted on or before July 15, 2019. Failure to submit the pending documents will be treated as unsuccessful in the qualifying examination or considered “Not Eligible” and admission will be terminated from CHRIST (Deemed to be University) without any claim.

 

All admitted students must open an account at South Indian Bank, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Branch as part of the admission process and must carry relevant ID proof (Aadhar Card and Pan Card). The University ID card is a smart card, which is both an ID cum ATM card with a chip containing the student personal details. All transactions within the University campus after commencement of classes, including fee payment will be processed only through this card. It is also an access card for Library and other restricted places.


Selected candidates who fall under International student category (ISC) should register with the Foreigner Regional Registration Officer (FRRO / FRO) of the Local Police in Bengaluru, India within 14 working days from the date of admission or arriving in Bengaluru.
